Counseling in Durham, Raleigh & online across North Carolina

Therapy for the life you’re actually living.

I offer a steady, engaged space for people facing loss, change, questions of identity, or difficulty in their relationships. We pay attention to what keeps repeating, what matters most, and where a different response might become possible.

Who I work with

You can be capable and still need somewhere to set things down.

Sometimes the next step is not another strategy. It is having enough space to notice the shape of an experience, put language to it, and decide how you want to meet it.

01

When life has shifted

Loss, burnout, anxiety, family change, and questions about who you are can unsettle even a life that once felt dependable.

02

When connection feels difficult

Partners may love one another and still get pulled into familiar reactions that leave both people unheard or alone.

03

When belonging is complicated

I welcome LGBTQ+ clients, varied relationship structures, non-traditional families, and people examining culture, spirituality, and identity.

How I practice

We look for meaning, not just symptoms.

I am warm, attentive, and willing to be direct. My work draws from psychodynamic, relational, attachment-informed, Gestalt, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness-based traditions. Rather than forcing your experience into a single model, we consider history, relationships, identity, context, and the ways you learned to adapt.

01
Become more observant.
Learn to recognize the moments when an old response begins to take over.
02
Make sense of it.
Consider where that response came from and what purpose it has served.
03
Try another way.
Build choices that are more responsive to the present and more aligned with your values.

Areas of focus

Life rarely arrives one issue at a time.

These are common threads in my work, but they often overlap. We can begin with the part that feels most present to you.

A little about me

Therapy can be both serious work and deeply human work.

I earned my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Central University. Writing and teaching were important parts of my life before becoming a counselor, and both continue to influence the way I listen for nuance, contradiction, and the words that have not quite been found yet.

I am interested in how people create meaning, including through spiritual life, symbols, and ritual. Those subjects can have a place in our work when they matter to you; they never have to be part of therapy when they do not.

Away from sessions, you can often find me walking my dogs, wandering through an unfamiliar city, tending to something on the stove, or making an overly specific playlist for someone I care about.
